Junior Coach Program
JUNIOR COACHES
We are looking for a small group of responsible teens, must be rising 8th graders to apply, who are interested in being a part of our Coaching Staff this upcoming season. The role of a Junior Coach is to assist in areas where coaches or volunteers need extra hands while at the same time we are training these coaches for future coaching opportunities on the swim team. Each week a signup genius will be sent out and Junior Coaches will sign up for slots to assist. There will also be a separate signup genius for meets. Junior Coaches are not required to attend every practice or meet. This way our busy teens are still able to help with the team and learn about what it is like to be a part of the coaching staff.
Junior Coach Practice Responsibilities
- Help with the 6 & under who are novice swimmers
- Set up and take down pool deck
- Assist in watching swimmers and correcting swim technique during other age groups
Junior Coach Meet Responsibilities
- Arrive when the coaching staff arrives at each meet. These times will change meet to meet.
- Help set up and take down the pool deck (flags, lanes, chairs, bullpens, etc.).
- During the meet, assist bullpen parents.
- Assist with bullpen seating for swimmers: This year we are bringing back the chairs in the bullpens, where you will sit the swimmers in the chairs in the lanes that they will be swimming in. Then 4 events before they swim you will move those swimmers to the lanes and sit them in the chairs. You will also be assisting bullpen parents moving the swimmers to the opposite side of the pool for relays.
