Volunteer
It takes a tremendous number of volunteers to operate a successful swim team and have a positive experience for the swimmers and their families. For one Home Swim Meet it takes up to 70 volunteers! Volunteering is a great way to get to know other swimteam families and to create a fun, supportive, and lasting experience for each swimmer.
Each family will be required to volunteer for five shifts during the swim season. Only 2 shifts can be worked per family at one swim meet.
At the time of registration, an agreement will be signed that if the five volunteer shifts are not met within the season, Harrington Falls Swim Team will charge your credit card $400 fee for incomplete volunteer shifts per family.
Families volunteers will have the opportunity to volunteer at 5 ASA Meets, GaTech Meet, and End of the Season Banquet.
During registration, families will rank their preference among the three volunteer committees: Deck Committee, Bull-Pen Committee, and Concessions Committee.
Our meet schedule is posted mid-April. You will be notified by the end of April which committee you have been assigned. At that time, you will be able to sign up for jobs within that committee. Under each of the tabs, you will find a description of the jobs within each committee.
Previous experience is NOT required to be on any of the committees. The goal of being on assigned to a committee is to become more acquainted with the group of volunteers, concentrate on learning a group of tasks well, and becoming confident in those tasks. The more confident we all become, the more involved and engaged all our families will be in our team!
Note: The 6 and unders swim early in the meet and are usually finished by 7 pm, so parents, choose your volunteer assignments accordingly.
