Thank You for a Great FIRST Week
Dear Hammerheads
Thank You to our parents and athletes for an amazing first week of practice. This time of year is very busy for everyone. Our three Head Coaches Nick, Patrick, and Rachel are all graduating seniors. We had the coaching schedule planned out to accommodate their busy graduation schedules, however there was a slight hiccup this week, which made us change our plans. Parents, thank you again for being understanding about practice cancellation. Coach Shay and Bria are sisters, and their grandfather passed away earlier in the week. Our coaches made the right call for the safety of 6andUnder age group hosting land practices. Kudos to Head Coach Nick for taking the responsibility to communicate these changes and for being in charge of most practices this week! Congratulations to Head Coach Rachel on her achievements and graduation ceremony from Blessed Trinity!
Next week all swimmers will be back in the water!

Raffle Tickets are $2/ticket and winner will be announced at the Mock Meet on 5/25! Tickets will be sold during evening May practices! Sales will CLOSE after practice on Friday 5/20. Bring CASH or have your VENMO ready to go :) ALL proceeds will benefit Swim Across America - The Atlanta Race which benefits Children's Healthcare of Atlanta - Aflac Center. If you are interested in purchasing raffle tickets you can email or text Kristen Ethridge (404) 202-2220 or [email protected]
- Team families must volunteer for 5 volunteer shifts for the season, if you would like to do more, we would love the help! If you and/or your spouse signed up to volunteer you and/or your spouse have been assigned to one of the three volunteer committees. You should have received an email about your volunteer committee. If you did not receive an email please let me know.
Where are the Meets on the website? The entire season meets and volunteer opportunities are LIVE now. You can sign up under the tab called "Signup Calendar". You can go ahead and sign up for as many of your volunteer shifts as you would like!
What does it mean to "Declare" for a Meet? Next to each Meet there is a button called "Meet Entry" if you click on that button you will see "Your family swim meet status" here you can say you are "attending this meet" or "not attending this meet". You must do this for each swimmer for each meet. SO saying "yes" or "no" to swimming in a meet is "declaring" you have till 48 hours before the meet to declare, the meet will close at that time.
How do I sign up for my volunteer shifts? Next to each Meet is the "Job Sign UP" button you will see jobs available for your committee and then there are several non-committee open jobs too. - New this year we are offering Monday and Wednesday summer evening practices. These for dual-working families who still want to participate in swim team, and for swimmers who may have another week long camp (i.e. VBS, baseball, horseback camp etc.) that don't want to miss an entire week of practice. These have limited sign up number. You only have to RSVP for these practices IF YOU ARE ATTENDING.
- There is a time change for our Mock Meet on 5/25. Two of our coaches have siblings graduating from middle school that day, and for other families with graduating middle schoolers we are going to start 30 minutes later than previously scheduled. NOW arrive for the Mock Meet at 4:30. We will start individual pictures at 4:30pm. We should be ready to take our team picture by 5:15 and NOW start the Mock Meet at 5:30! Since the Mock Meet is just our team we should be done by 8pm. Volunteers will work for the entire Mock Meet.
Thank you again for an amazing first week! Next week will be even better!
GO HAMMERHEADS
