Exciting Swim Season Updates and Coaching Application

February 13th

Dear Swim Team Families,

Sorry for the delay—my computer is finally fixed, and we are up and running for the 2025 season! Thank you for your patience. I know it may seem like I’m behind schedule due to the lack of emails, but I promise there has been a lot happening behind the scenes to get everything in place.

Now, onto some exciting updates!

Coaching Staff Updates:

  • Bria is stepping into the role of Head Coach! She has been part of our coaching staff since she was 14, and we are so excited for her to lead our team this season.
  • Zach will be with us for the first week of May before heading to Finland for a study abroad program. It’s bittersweet to see him go, but we wish him all the best on this incredible adventure!
  • Gabby is busy with nursing classes but will be helping in an as-needed role. We hope to see her at some practices and meets!

    • Coaching / JR Coaching Applications:

  • Now open! If you are interested in a Coaching position, please apply by February 28th. Decision emails will be sent out by March 4th.
  • JR Coach position: If you're a rising 8th grader, and are interested in a leadership/training position with our team, please apply by February 28th. Decision emails will be sent out by March 4th.

    • NEW Important Dates & Team Info:

  • Mandatory Meet & Greet: Join us on Saturday, April 27, from 2–4 PM to meet the coaches and teammates and get ready for the season!
  • Team Suits: We’re keeping the same navy suit with our team logo design. Check out our Facebook and Instagram pages (cross-posted) for the Buy/Sell/Trade Post of used suits. Please remember swim team suits are sized very different from regular swimsuits.
  • New Suit Purchases: I’ll update you as soon as they are available on our website. The last day to purchase new suits will be at Meet & Greet on 4/27!

    • Registration Dates:

  • Returning Families: Opens on March 5th
  • New Families: Opens on March 6th

    • Other Important Dates:

  • Afternoon Practices Begin: Will begin Monday May, 12th.  Practice times are based on age groups listed on website. Age groups are based on a May 31st Birthday. For example, my son’s birthday is 2/27/12, he will be 13 before 5/31/25 so he will swim in the 13/14 Boys Age Group. However, my daughter’s birthday is 6/20/2014. She will still be 10 on 5/31/25 so she will swim in the 9/10 age group even though she will turn 11 during the swim season.
  • Mock Meet: May 21st 6:30 pm
  • Practice Break: No practice from May 22nd to May 26th.
  • Summer Morning Practices Commence: Starting May 27th.
  • Summer Evening Practices: Available on Mondays and Wednesdays, limited to 24 spots are on a first-come, first-served basis.
    • Meet Schedule:
  • Meets: May 29th, June 5th, June 12th, June 19th, and June 24th.
  • ASA GaTech Meet: Potentially on Morning Session of June 26th.
  • End-of-Season Banquet: Evening of June 26th.
    • Note: Official home and away schedules will be finalized post-spring break.

    Volunteer Information:

  • Volunteer Shifts: Each family is required to complete 5 shifts during the season. Shifts sign up will open end of April after we know our Home and Away Schedule.
  • Chair Positions: Current chair holders, please confirm if you’ll continue in your role for the 2025 season.
    If you’re interested in taking on a chair position—which includes a reserved parking spot for home meets—please reach out to me.

    • End-of-Season Banquet:

    • End of the Season Banquet will be June 26th at 6:30 pm. Due to rising food costs, there will be a nominal fee for this year’s banquet. Further details will be shared as they become available.
